Bull TempleBull Temple Road in Basavanagudi, is venue for Kadalekayi Parishe, the historic annual groundnut fair celebrated at the end of the Karthika month. After a 2 years break for COVID-19, this year the fair returned from 21 - 23 November. Special morning Puja was followed by event inauguration in the evening by the Hon.CM Basavaraj Bommai. Raw, roasted, boiled, spicy groundnuts were sold between Rs. 50-80 per litre. Security was beefed up in Basavanagudi Bull Temple Road to cope up with the thronging crowds. Legend goes that a bull which trampled the groundnut crops, was appeased only when the farmers prayed to Lord Shiva promising to offer their first harvest to Basavanna, the bull.
