Naganatheshwara Temple which is 1300 years old, is in Begur village, off Hosur Road, 4 km from Bommanahalli junction. The temple was built by the Gangas and extended by the Cholas. A 9th century inscription was discovered here, with the earliest reference to the name Bengaluru. This temple is also known as Panchalingeshwara temple as it has 5 lingas, each associated with a different aspect of healing. Remnants of a circular mud fort and a Jaina Basadi are found near the temple. On Maha Shivratri crowds throng to this temple, known for its healing powers.
