Know your Bangalore

Bangalore Palace was built in 1862 by Rev. Garrett, the first principal of the Central High School. The palace was bought by Chamaraja Wodeyar who renovated it in 1867 to resemble the Windsor Castle in England. The late Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, the last prince of the Mysore royal family, was fighting a legal battle with the Govt. of Karnataka which tried to confiscate the palace, a case still pending in the Supreme Court.
