Bhoganandishwara Temple is a 1200 year old temple built by the Bana Queen Ratnavali, and extended by various dynasties which ruled the region, displaying a melange of architectural styles. The complex has 3 shrines: Bhoganandishwara, Arunachaleshwara, Uma Maheshwara. The temple complex has a vast green courtyard and probably the most picturesque kalyani in Karnataka, the Shringi Tirtha. This temple is in Nandigram (about 60 km from Bengaluru), on the foot-hills of the Nandi Hills, and is a popular destination of newly wedded couples making their auspicious trip to get the blessings of Lord Uma Maheshwara.
